With effect from January 1, 2010, new facilities have been authorized in Varna, Bulgaria. They are set out below. The PEME program is at present mandatory only for seafarers originating from India, Indonesia, Latvia, the Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. However, with effect from February 20, 2010, it will also be mandatory for Members to use these clinics for Bulgarian seafarers. In addition, your Managers have approved additional clinics in Surabaya, Indonesia and Singapore in order to expand services in those countries. Finally, Maritime Clinic for International Services in Manila, the Philippines and Parkway Shenton Medical Group in Singapore are no longer authorized to perform PEMEs on behalf of the American Club.
