Belgian marine contractor Jan De Nul and Danish utility Ørsted have struck an export cable deal for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK. Under the agreement with an undisclosed value, Jan De Nul will carry out seabed preparation, transport, installation and protection of 350km of cables that will link the wind farm to the UK electricity grid. Several vessels will be utilised to execute the work, including cable layers Isaac Newton and Connector and the rock-installation unit Simon Stevin. The campaign is set to start in 2025 and be completed in early 2027. The Hornsea 3 wind farm is located 160 km off the Yorkshire coast.
