Taiwanese shipowner and operator Wisdom Marine is adding more Japanese handysize bulkers to its orderbook. In a regulatory filing, the Taipei-based company said it would pay up to $70.75m for a pair of 39,000 dwt units to be built at Naikai Zosen. The country’s largest dry bulk shipowner has a fleet of over 140 vessels with a series of handysize newbuilding projects lined up across Japanese yards such as Saiki Heavy Industries of the Onomichi Dockyard, Namura Shipbuilding and Imabari Shipbuilding. Early last year, the company also booked a pair of kamsarmaxes at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding for delivery in 2026.
