Speaking during Posidonia, Mitrou said the exhibition has once again confirmed its role as a key meeting point for the global maritime community, bringing together regulators, charterers, bankers and shipowners at a time when the sector is facing major decisions over its future fleet and energy transition. “We have the opportunity to experience perhaps one of the most crowded Posidonia exhibitions ever,” he said, describing the event as an excellent meeting point for all relevant shipping stakeholders. Among the strategic topics discussed during the exhibition, Mitrou pointed to nuclear propulsion as one of the newest and most significant areas attracting attention. The discussion, he noted, now involves not only shipping companies and classification societies, but also governments, institutions and manufacturers of new modular reactors.
