American Club Circular No. 19/17 1 JULY 6, 2017 CIRCULAR NO. 19/17 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: AMERICAN CLUB WINS SEATRADE AWARD Your Managers are pleased to report that the American Club, in conjunction with IDESS Interactive Technologies, won the Investment in People award at the Annual Seatrade Awards ceremony which was held in London last week. The award was given in recognition of the Club’s elearning systems for managing crew competence, considered essential to maritime safety, security and environmental protection. These systems were recognized not only for the transfer of knowledge they entail, but also for their capacity to monitor the retention of that knowledge through periodic assessment. This was seen by the judges to support continual personal improvement and the maintenance of crew competence.
