Recent strikes on tankers are heightening security concerns and discouraging transit through the chokepoint, he added. The situation is expected to persist, Buisson said. Europe relies on the Middle East for 45% of its jet fuel, compared to 25% for gasoil and diesel, according to Kpler data.
