DHL Group has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Statkraft for renewable electricity from an onshore wind farm in Germany. The agreement began in February 2026. Statkraft will supply around 35 GWh of renewable electricity each year. The power will cover about 8% of DHL Group’s current electricity demand in Germany. The electricity will come from the Sollwitt-Pobüll wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein. The facility, commissioned in 2025, has an installed capacity of 13.2 MW. The deal marks DHL’s first long-term onshore wind PPA in Germany. It complements the company’s existing offshore wind agreements and expands its renewable energy portfolio. DHL said the agreement will strengthen its energy security, diversify its renewable power sources and support its decarbonization strategy. “This agreement is an important milestone for our energy strategy in Germany,” said Anna Spinelli, Chief Procurement Officer and Head of Mobility at DHL Group. “By adding our first onshore wind PPA, we are strengthening the resilience of our energy supply and directly supporting new renewable capacity in Germany.” For Statkraft, the agreement expands its presence in the logistics sector. “With its energy requirement, the logistics industry is a key player in the energy transition,” said Patrick Koch, Head of German Origination at Statkraft. “Our PPA model combines long-term price security with access to renewable electricity from new wind turbines.” The agreement also supports the development of renewable energy projects outside Germany’s EEG subsidy scheme. DHL said this approach helps increase renewable generation while improving long-term price stability and supply resilience.
