FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin Transport Malta has revised its Flag State Inspection (FSI) Programme, setting out a risk-based approach that may result in increased scrutiny of older vessels, ships detained by Port State Control and companies with repeated safety deficiencies. Under Merchant Shipping Notice 2 Rev.1, the Merchant Shipping Directorate said the programme is intended to ensure the effective implementation of Malta’s obligations as a Flag State and compliance by Maltese-registered ships with applicable international requirements.
