MMI Daily Iron Ore Index Report June 10 2026 in Chinese iron ore and steelmaking prices 10/06/2026 The DCE iron ore market was slightly stronger in the morning session and rallied at the close today. The most-traded I2609 contract seƩled at 771.5 yuan/mt, up 1.51% from the previous trading day. Port spot prices rose by 5-10 yuan/mt from the day before. Traders mostly followed the market and activity was moderate; steel mills stayed strongly on the sidelines with few inquiries. Spot transactions have been limited so far today. Demand side, iron ore demand grew significantly this week. According to the latest SMM data, the sample operating rate rose 0.59% WoW to 90.47% this week, while daily average hot metal output was 2.4597 million mt, up 29,500 mt WoW. Sentiment, as domestic coal mines gradually resume production, the marginal disturbance from coal and coke has subsided, alleviating the downward pressure on iron ore prices. Additionally, market rumors continued to ferment and expectations for supply tightening began to heat up, puƫng a floor under iron ore prices.
