Image Credit: Maersk Shipping firm A.P. Moller - Maersk has agreed to sell its Maersk Training business and subsidiary Maersk H2S Safety Services to private equity firm OpenGate Capital . The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close later in 2026 , Maersk said in a press release on Friday. Maersk said the sale reflects its focus on developing its strategic brands, while the businesses will continue to focus on training, gas detection, safety and workforce competency solutions under OpenGate. Maersk Training has provided training, competence development and safety services for more than 40 years to industries including maritime, energy, renewables and logistics. Until the transaction closes, Maersk Training will continue to operate as part of Maersk, with employees, customers and partners expected to see business continue as usual.
