Denmark’s Ramboll has signed a multi-year deal with PGE Baltica to provide wide-ranging technical advisory services to the company’s offshore wind farm portfolio in the Baltic Sea. Under the four-year contract, Ramboll’s support will cover every aspect of offshore wind farm progression, ensuring technical robustness, financial efficiency, and secure operation throughout the lifecycle of the projects. Ramboll said that it would provide wide-ranging support for the company’s over 7GW offshore wind farm portfolio in the Baltic Sea. PGE Baltica is in charge of implementing the PGE Group’s offshore programme, including developing the 2.5GW Baltica wind farm off Poland which will be implemented in two phases – Baltica 2 and Baltica 3. The wind farm is expected to be completed by 2030. These projects are being developed jointly with Ørsted. After 2030, the Baltica 1 Wind Power Plant with a capacity of some 900MW will be added to the portfolio. The PGE Group wants to build further offshore wind farms by 2040 by acquiring new areas for development in the Baltic Sea. Recently, Ramboll acquired global consultancy K2 Management to increase its support for clients throughout all stages of wind energy projects.
