Norwegian offshore service provider Archer has won a contract from Equinor for plug and abandonment work on 30 subsea wells. This follows a contract for the planning of permanent plug and abandonment of the Snorre UPA and Heidrun B and C templates won in late March 2025. The new contract has been structured to enable extensions to additional P&A projects across Equinor’s portfolio. The contract term is three years, including two two-year options. The estimated total contract value is up to $140m for the 30 subsea wells. Approximately 50% of the contract value relates to services delivered by Archer’s alliance partners. The fully integrated P&A program incorporates the planning scope, including project management, well and subsurface engineering, with the execution scope including wireline, fishing and remedial services, downhole mechanical isolation, P&A services, cementing, fluids, and mudlogging. “The award further reflects our team’s expertise in subsea well P&A planning and execution.
