It focuses on providing a threat and risk management process and, recognising the dynamic nature of regional security situations, provides signposts to direct users to the most up-to-date security intelligence and risk assessment information. BMP Maritime Security replaces all existing versions of the BMP that include BMP5, Global BMP and BMP West Africa and these should be removed from ships’ libraries and management systems. In close association with the release of BMP Maritime Security, is the Maritime Industry Security Threat Overview (MISTO) developed by BIMCO, ICS, IMCA, INTERCARGO and INTERTANKO.
