Over the past five years, China’s economy has grown at an average annual rate of 5.4 percent, accounting for around 30 percent of global growth, greater than the contribution of the Group of Seven combined, Wang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the ongoing session of the national legislature. As the world’s largest potential consumer market and the biggest emerging economy, China has better conditions supporting a positive long-term outlook and a stronger trend of sustainable growth, said Wang.
