Oslo-listed seismic data specialist TGS has been awarded an extension for one of its campaigns in the Gulf of Mexico. The extension is for an ongoing multi-year proprietary ocean bottom node (OBN) acquisition contract in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the company, the contract has been extended for an additional three-year duration. “This continuation of a long-term commitment from a major producer in the Gulf of America and strategic customer reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence and highlights our ability to adapt to evolving industry priorities,” said Kristian Johansen, CEO at TGS. TGS has been active since the start of the year. In January, it won a first-of-its-kind multi-client long-offset ocean bottom node (OBN) acquisition campaign in the Gulf of Mexico. Results of the campaign, named Apex 1, are expected to be completed in the late second quarter of 2026. Early products are expected in the third quarter of the year, while final data delivery is set for the final quarter of 2027. In February, in strategic collaboration with SLB, TGS announced the launch of Engagement 9, the latest phase of its ocean bottom node multi-client campaign. It covers 161 OCS blocks in the Walker Ridge protraction area, one of the Gulf of Mexico’s most prolific deepwater provinces. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway United States
