Italy’s Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) has moved to tighten its control over Rana Subsea, exercising an option to acquire a further 7.1% stake in the business. The shares were bought from Nettuno Capital for €7.25m ($8.5m), taking NextGeo’s total holding in Rana to 82.5%. The Milan-listed company, part of the Naples-based Marnavi Group, has been steadily building its position in the subsea services space, with Rana forming a key part of that strategy. The latest move builds on NextGeo’s earlier takeover of the contractor, which marked a step-change in its growth plans. That deal saw NextGeo secure majority control of Rana, bringing the business into its wider subsea and offshore services platform as it looked to scale up capabilities and geographic reach. Since then, the focus has been on integration and expanding the combined offering, with Rana providing operational depth in key offshore regions while NextGeo adds financial backing and broader project scope. Rana operates across the Mediterranean and West Africa, offering a range of subsea services and positioning itself as a regional player in inspection, maintenance and offshore support work. Clients include major oil and gas players such as TotalEnergies, ENI, BP, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips, as well as offshore contractors like Saipem, Prysmian, DEME, and Ørsted. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsItaly
