Image Credit: Jan De Nul Jan De Nul has ordered a new trenching support vessel suitable for conversion to methanol propulsion in the future. The vessel will be a sister ship to the Isambard K. Brunel , which the offshore contractor ordered in March to support subsea cable burial work, it said in an emailed statement on Monday .  Both vessels will be equipped with subsea trenchers capable of burying cables up to five metres into the seabed. The new vessel will feature Jan De Nul’s ultra-low-emission vessel technology, while its engines will be prepared for future methanol operation. The latest order takes Jan De Nul’s fleet programme for subsea cable installation and protection to five vessels under construction.
