Hapag-Lloyd is changing the way customers submit Dangerous Goods (DG) documentation and selected documents for non-dangerous cargo across six Southeast Asian markets. From 7 September 2026 , customers shipping from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand are recommended to use the carrier’s Booking Amendment Tool. The change covers DG documentation as well as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for non-dangerous goods. DG documents move to Booking Amendment Tool For dangerous goods shipments, customers should use the tool to submit new DG documentation or update existing information. Customers must select “Change DG Information” and upload the required supporting documents. These may include DG application forms, Safety Data Sheets, packing certificates and tank certificates where applicable. MSDS submissions also covered For non-dangerous goods, customers are recommended to use the same tool when submitting MSDS documentation. They should select “Change Customer Reference” and upload the necessary documents. For cargo containing lithium batteries, additional documentation may include a Certificate of Cargo Transportation Conditions, a 38.3 Test Report and an On Deck Stowage Application. Hapag-Lloyd said it aims to gradually move these submissions away from email and other channels. The carrier expects a single submission channel to reduce documentation errors and support timely updates.
