File Image / Pixabay Petrobras says HSFO is now on sale at Rio de Janeiro, available for prompt delivery Indicative price a little over $80/mt below VLSFO at the port Supplier ended HSFO bunker sales in Brazil in October 2019 ahead of IMO 2020 Petrobras says it has started selling HSFO bunkers at the Port of Rio de Janeiro , with product available for prompt delivery. The move expands the supplier's bunker portfolio and offers customers "a more cost-competitive option", its bunkering arm said in an emailed notice to customers on Monday. Indicatively, the grade is priced at a little over $80/mt below VLSFO sold at the port, the company said, directing customers to their Petrobras trader for a firm offer. Rio de Janeiro VLSFO was at $840/mt on Monday, according to Ship & Bunker data . As with its other bunker grades in Brazil , the HSFO is produced at the company's own refineries, which it says ensures consistent specifications and that the fuel is free from petrochemical residues. Petrobras stopped selling HSFO bunkers from October 1, 2019 , switching its fuel oil supply to VLSFO ahead of the IMO 2020 sulphur cap.
