New York-listed suezmax specialist Nordic American Tankers (NAT) has sealed a deal to sell a 2005-built vessel for about $40m, continuing its steady disposal of older tonnage. The Herbjørn Hansson-led company did not disclose the identity of the vessel or the buyer. The latest deal follows a string of sales aimed at rejuvenating the fleet. Late last year, NAT sold two suezmaxes built in 2004 and 2005 for a combined net price of around $50m. This was followed by a deal in February to sell its oldest ship, the 2003-built Nordic Pollux, for $25m. NAT counts two 2005-built ships, the Nordic Freedom and Nordic Skier, which, after the Nordic Pullox is delivered to its new owner, are set to become the oldest vessels in the fleet.
