Nasdaq-listed Greek boxship tonnage provider Euroseas has landed new charter contracts for three modern 2,800 teu feeder vessels. The company said all three deals are for up to three years at $32,000 per day with a fixed period of 34 months. Aristides Pittas-led Euroseas, which boasts a fleet of 25 ships on a fully-delivered basis, has fixed out the 2024-built Tender Soul from early December. The vessel, delivered earlier this year, is currently on another charter earning $17,000 per day. The other two ships, Dear Panel and Symeon P, are currently under construction and are set to start their charters with an undisclosed liner upon delivery in the first week of January 2025. “This en-bloc deal underscores the charterers’ sustained interest and need to invest in high-spec, eco-friendly vessels. The three-year duration also emphasises their long-term view in the resilience of the market, especially the feeder containership segment, and the fact that such eco-friendly vessels will be particularly important going forward as they navigate increasingly stringent environmental regulations,” remarked Euroseas’ chairman and chief executive Pittas.
