FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin India’s Directorate General of Shipping has introduced a revised digital procedure for reporting marine casualties, incidents and emergencies, making the eNAVIK Portal the exclusive reporting channel from 1 July 2026. According to Merchant Shipping Notice No. 04 of 2026, the new procedure supersedes Merchant Shipping Notice No. 12 of 2020, which had introduced the previous online Marine Casualty Reporting System. The change forms part of the Directorate’s wider digital transformation efforts and is intended to provide an integrated platform for maritime administration and stakeholder interaction.
