Image Credit: Silverstream Classification society RINA has independently assessed maritime technology firm Silverstream ’s methodology for measuring the energy savings delivered by its air lubrication system. The review covered how gross and net savings are calculated, including the impact of vessel speed and environmental conditions, Silverstream said in an emailed statement on Wednesday . The methodology is based on recognised industry standards and provides a common framework for Silverstream and shipowners to measure system performance. The assessment follows RINA’s Approval in Principle for Silverstream’s EEDI calculation and testing methodology, granted in December 2025 . “Our customers want reliable performance data to inform their decisions, which is why we have worked with RINA, a leading global class society, providing them with access to our data and methodology,” Noah Silberschmidt , CEO and Founder of Silverstream, said. Silverstream has reached 164 installations across various vessel segments.
