Image Credit: TUI Cruises Hamburg -based TUI Cruises is expanding its use of bio-LNG, with its Mein Schiff Flow cruise ship regularly bunkering the fuel in Barcelona since this summer. The vessel will continue using bio-LNG beyond the winter season, the company said in a LinkedIn post last week. The LNG dual-fuel ship, Mein Schiff Flow , entered service in June . Its sister ship Mein Schiff Relax is operating its summer season in Northern Europe entirely on bio-LNG. TUI Cruises said its use of bio-LNG has saved around 26,000 tonnes of CO2e so far in 2026 , compared with conventional fuels. The company expects the figure to reach around 50,000 tonnes of CO2e for the full year. Both ships are also fitted with improved catalytic converters to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions during port operations and shore power connections, allowing onboard power generation to be stopped while alongside.
