News 24 Jan, 2018 New requirements for load and discharge operations in UAE ports With immediate effect, any foreign ship carrying crude oil and products in UAE ports, territorial waters and in the exclusive economic zone, (excluding ships with navigation licenses issued by the FTA) must fulfil the below conditions to carry out load and discharge operations: must be less than 25 years old (from the date of delivery) must be classed by a classification society member in the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) or Emirates Classification Society (TASNEEF) must be double-hulled must be constructed or adapted primarily to carry crude oil and products in bulk For more information, please refer to the Ministerial Resolution No. (72) 2017 Circular issued by the UAE Federal Transport Authority.
