Offshore energy services contractor Next Geosolutions has won a new contract from Italian firm Saipem for the execution of various survey and support to installation activities, within the development of the Bouri Gas utilisation project in North Africa. The contract, worth around €8.5m ($9.8m), entails the deployment of two specialised vessels, the NG Worker and the NG Surveyor, to perform offshore touch-down monitoring operations using work-class ROVs, and construction support services, as well as the delivery of project pipelines, during the installation phases carried out by Saipem. Operations are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will continue for several months, including optional extensions. The Bouri Gas project aims to valorise the associated gas from the Bouri field, located off the Libyan coast. The project includes the installation of a new gas recovery module, along with a series of upgrades and enhancements to the existing infrastructure. Rana Subsea, the company acquired by NextGeo, also recently signed a contract with Saipem for the same project.
