A SHIPOWNER’S GUIDE TO REGULATORY COMPLIANCE In response to requests for guidance from a number of quarters, and in a manner similar to that adopted toward the end of last year in regard to voyages for the United States, your Managers are pleased to present Welcome to Greater China! A Shipowner's Guide to Regulatory Compliance highlighting key regulations of which shipowners should be aware when trading to and from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This document focuses on issues of safety, maritime security and marine environmental protection which are especially relevant to locations in Greater China. Members should also note that, in regard to most of these requirements, the Club also provides additional guidance, materials and services to assist them in achieving compliance. Your Managers will maintain an up-to-date summary of regulations pertinent to Greater China, including any new or amended regulations going forward at the Club’s website at http://www.american-club.com/page/Greater-China-regulations Members are urged to liaise with their local agents in advance of trading to the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong for detailed guidance and assistance as to the rules which may apply to them.
