The Group of Friends on Safety and Security of Shipping and Seafarers was formally launched on 25 September at the New York’s United Nations headquarters by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Liberian Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, bringing together countries with significant interests in maritime trade, seafarer welfare and ship ownership.
