Jinhui Marine, a subsidiary of Chinese bulker operator Jinhui Shipping and Transportation, has taken an ultramax bulk carrier on a time charter. The Oslo- and Hong Kong-listed company said that Jinhui Marine contracted the 2016-built Xing He Hai bulker for 20 to 23 months from Xinghe Shipping. The deal for the 61,473 dwt vessel is worth around $9.02m or $16,250 daily with a 3.75% address commission. The Singapore-flagged ship will be delivered to Jinhui Marine between May 1 and June 30 this year. This latest charter is the third one in less than a month and the fifth hired vessel in total. Jinhui previously chartered in the 2017-built newcastlemax True Neptune for at least 33 months from the Singapore-based Olam Maritime Freight in a deal worth $26.64m. Only a few days before that, the company agreed a $10m, 22-month deal for the hire of the 2016-built ultramax named Pacific Lilly from the Singapore arm of China’s Zhejiang Shipping. In December last year, the company charted in the 2021-built kamsarmax Ever Shining.
