Singapore yard group Seatrium has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a subsidiary of energy supermajor Shell to strengthen collaboration on floating production systems. The MoU, which focuses on driving project standardisation and replication, seeks to promote best practices in the design and construction of floating production systems. Shell Global Solutions International and Seatrium will leverage their experience and know-how from previous projects to mature and realise further benefits of replication by incorporating lessons learned from past projects. Seatrium and Shell have previously cooperated on various projects. Most recently, Seatrium was awarded a deal for the Sparta floating production unit in August 2023.
