Polish developer Orlen Neptun has inked a reservation agreement with the Kołobrzeg Seaport Authority to secure land for developing a service port supporting the company’s Baltic West offshore wind farm. The deal strengthens existing ties and enables pre-project analyses and documentation tailored to the 4GW project across four concessions in the Ławica Odrzańska area. Kołobrzeg’s proximity makes it the optimal hub for servicing the wind farm with CTV vessels, meeting current infrastructure standards for central Baltic Sea operations. Baltic West, Orlen Group’s second offshore wind initiative after Baltic East, is expected to deliver clean energy to over 5 million Polish households by 2040. The project includes permits for artificial islands and grid connections, with location studies – including environmental, wind, and geotechnical assessments – slated for the coming months. All four areas are primed for Poland’s offshore wind support system. Meanwhile, Orlen Neptun’s 900MW Baltic East project secured auction success late last year. It is expected to produce first power in December 2032.
