Samsung Heavy Industries Lands 770.1 Billion Won LNG Deal in Shipbuilding News 24/03/2026 Samsung Heavy Industries announced in a regulatory filing on March 23 that it has signed a contract worth 770.1 billion won with an Oceania-based shipping company for two LNG carriers. Following an order for one vessel on the 20th, the company has now secured three LNG carriers in succession. The total value of the three orders amounts to 1.15 trillion won. With this, Samsung Heavy Industries’ cumulative orders for this year have reached a total of 14 vessels, valued at 2.9billion,achieving2113.9 billion. By vessel type, the orders consist of six LNG carriers, two ethane carriers, two container ships, and four crude oil tankers, for a total of 14 vessels. An official from Samsung Heavy Industries stated, “Despite changes in the international political situation, global shipping companies are consistently placing orders for LNG carriers,” adding, “Samsung Heavy Industries possesses advanced technology across the entire LNG value chain and will continue to focus on a selective ordering strategy centered on high-value-added products such as eco-friendly vessels and FLNGs.
