Greek tanker owner Arcadia Shipmanagement has been named as the owner behind a recent order for a pair of suezmaxes in South Korea. The Athens-based outfit has signed up for 157,000 dwt newbuildings at HD Hyundai Samho at about $89m each with delivery expected in March and May 2029. Shipbuilder HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering revealed the order in an exchange announcement last week, with shipbrokers identifying Arcadia as the counterparty. Arcadia currently manages a fleet of nine tankers and has been steadily expanding through newbuildings in recent years. Earlier this year, the company took delivery of two suezmax vessels — Aegean Fighter and Aegean Winner — from Hyundai yards, marking the first arrivals under its initial seven-vessel newbuilding programme. Another suezmax from the same series is due to join the fleet later this year. Beyond the suezmax segment, Arcadia is also expecting four aframax/LR2 tankers from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co. in 2027 as part of a broader fleet expansion plan. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGreece South Korea
