Rio Brasil Terminal, ICTSI’s operation at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, has added Norcoast’s regular cabotage service to its portfolio, strengthening the terminal’s role in national logistics integration and expanding transport options for cargo moving to and from Rio de Janeiro. The service commenced in July and connects Rio de Janeiro to a broader cabotage network spanning the ports of Manaus, Pecém, Suape, Salvador, Santos, Paranaguá and Itajaí, supporting industrial flows and national distribution chains including connections to the Manaus Free Trade Zone. RBT’s intermodal infrastructure further extends the service’s reach beyond Rio de Janeiro to strategic regions including Minas Gerais, the interior of São Paulo and Greater São Paulo. Rail connections through the Floriano, Suzano and São José dos Campos rail ramps provide access to these inland markets, supported by the terminal’s recent expansion in the Alto Tietê region. Roberto Lopes, CEO of RBT, described the Norcoast addition as reinforcing the terminal’s role in national logistics integration and contributing to the competitiveness of the cabotage sector. Rafael Reis, RBT Commercial Director, highlighted the opportunities the new route opens for the São Paulo market through the terminal’s rail connectivity.
