Image Credit: Corvus Norway -based Corvus Energy and China’s BYD Energy Storage have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to advance next-generation maritime battery technology. The deal expands on an MoU signed in December 2025 and formalises plans to jointly develop marine battery systems using lithium iron phosphate technology, Corvus said in an email statement on Wednesday . The companies said the partnership will combine Corvus Energy’s marine integration expertise with BYD Energy Storage’s battery cell technology to develop lower-cost battery systems designed for marine applications. The collaboration will also cover research and development, certification work and large-scale deployment of high-rate LFP marine battery systems for the global shipping market. "By pairing Corvus’ deep maritime knowledge with BYD Energy Storage’s world‑leading cell technology, we can reduce system cost significantly while maintaining the safety and performance standards this industry needs," Fredrik Witte , CEO of Corvus Energy, said.
