Spanish energy company Repsol on Tuesday (1 September) successfully completed its first bunker delivery in the Port of Chancay in Peru. The operation involved the supply of 740 metric tonnes (mt) of Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) from the company’s oil tanker Thomas B , with a storage capacity of 20,000 metric tons, to a container vessel. The delivery marked Repsol’s expansion into Chancay and its continued development of bunkering operations in Peru. Strategically located just 75 km north of Callao, the Port of Chancay is rapidly emerging as one of the most important maritime hubs on the Pacific coast, creating new opportunities for the shipping industry and international trade. Repsol currently operates two bunker tankers in the Port of Callao, Thomas B (20,000 DWT) and Adrian (16,000 DWT).
