FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin US Coast Guard Sector San Juan, in coordination with local emergency response agencies, is responding to a 265-foot fuel barge, the Defiant, which ran aground near the San Juan Harbor port entrance by San Felipe del Morro Castle in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 9 February. The barge was being towed inbound from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, when the grounding occurred. No injuries or missing crew members have been reported, and there are currently no signs of pollution. Coast Guard marine units on scene continue to monitor the situation.
