Image Credit: Oceanly Engineering firm ABB and maritime technology firm Oceanly are collaborating to give shipowners and operators a more integrated approach to vessel performance, voyage optimization, asset monitoring and energy efficiency. The initial focus will be integrating ABB’s voyage and route optimization capabilities into Oceanly Performance, Oceanly said in a press release today. This will allow operators to combine voyage optimization with vessel performance monitoring, high-frequency operational data and analytics in a single platform. Oceanly Performance collects high-frequency operational data from onboard systems, while ABB provides route and speed optimization. The companies said combining the capabilities could help operators reduce fuel consumption, emissions and operating costs through a continuous cycle of measuring performance, optimizing voyages and monitoring results. The collaboration will also bring together ABB’s asset monitoring, lifecycle management and remote technical support with Oceanly’s data collection, alerts and analytics to support earlier identification of equipment issues and predictive maintenance. The companies aim to reduce reliance on disconnected systems and create a more streamlined workflow linking vessel data, operational decisions and measurab
