The threat to shipping in the region resulting from the current conflict with the Russian Federation is significant, with recent reports of rocket attacks on two vessels in the Sea of Azov, and a vessel having been attacked with an explosive device in the vicinity of the port of Odessa. Furthermore, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has stated that all ports in the Ukraine are currently closed until further notice. There have been no reports of damage to any port-related infrastructure. Members who are planning to call at Ukrainian ports are recommended to reach out to their local agents or correspondents for updates on the situation. Members who have vessels in Ukrainian ports are recommended to contact the nearest Managers’ office in the region in which they are based for further assistance and advice.
