New York-listed driller Seadrill has secured two drillship contract awards with US exploration and production company LLOG Exploration, a subsidiary of Harbour Energy. The 2014-built ultra-deepwater drillship West Neptune was awarded a 365-day contract extension, with operations scheduled to commence in September 2026. The second contract is for the 2013-built ultra-deepwater drillship West Vela. It was awarded a 270-day program, with an expected commencement in August 2026. Drilling operations will be conducted in the US Gulf. The contracts will add approximately $260m to the contract backlog. “Securing this backlog enhances revenue visibility and supports free cash flow generation as we navigate near-term softness in the US Gulf.
