Oil-and-products trading giant Vitol today announced the passing yesterday of Kit Kernon, CEO of its shipping arm Vitol International Shipping (VIS). Kernon, aged 56, died in Singapore, sources say, from a suspected heart attack while out jogging. Since 1997, he helmed Vitol’s shipping division, building it into a market-leading platform and steering the company’s transition into a broader maritime presence. “Kit was an exemplary colleague,” said Vitol CEO Russell Hardy. “He built Vitol’s shipping business into a market leader, with his vision, pragmatism and good humour. He was loved and esteemed both within the company and the shipping industry. We will miss him a great deal. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family.” googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsSingapore
