File Image / Pixabay US fuel oil production up 7% per day on average in September versus August, per the EIA Production up 23,000 b/d to 366,000 b/d ; imports up 43,000 b/d to 169,000 b/d Supply, drawn from storage tanks, up 76,000 b/d to 353,000 b/d Total US fuel oil stocks up 69,000 bbls on the month to 22.05 million bbls The US has produced 7% more fuel oil per day on average in September than in August, according to the Energy Information Administration ( EIA ). US refineries produced 23,000 b/d more fuel oil in September so far, taking daily production to 366,000 b/d , while imports rose 43,000 b/d to 169,000 b/d , the EIA data shows. Supply drawn from US storage tanks, which can also imply demand, rose to 353,000 b/d this month so far, up from 277,000 b/d in August. That fuel oil goes to outlets including bunker fuel blenders and bulk terminals, refinery coking units for upgrading to higher-value products, or power generation. Total US fuel oil stocks rose 69,000 bbls on the month to 22.05 million bbls.
