File Image / Pixabay The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) have signed an MoU covering a range of maritime and port-related areas. The two authorities will exchange knowledge and experience in areas including digitalisation, maritime safety, port State control inspections, incident investigations and training, MPA said in a press release yesterday. The agreement was signed by MPA CEO Ang Wee Keong and MPABD CEO Captain Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman during the 12th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme. The agreement is intended to support safer and more efficient shipping while giving officials from both sides more opportunities to work together on practical maritime issues. “The signing of this MOU underscores the special friendship and strong partnership between MPA and MPABD, which we have built up over the years,” Keong said. "Through this MOU, we look forward to creating more opportunities for our officers to exchange knowledge, share experiences and work together in practical areas of maritime and port cooperation," Abdul Rahman said.
