June 20, 2023 In this episode, Sal Mercogliano - maritime historian at Campbell University (@campbelledu) and former merchant mariner - discusses the situation regarding the missing and overdue submersible Titan diving on the wreck of RMS Titanic as of June 20, 2023, and the regulations and rules regarding the classification of the submersible Titan. The loss of Titanic in 1912 led to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention in 1914; which established many of the safety measures and enforcement rules used on international shipping today.
