Image Credit: Babcock LGE Engineering firm Babcock LGE has launched a new reliquefaction technology designed to improve the efficiency of liquefied gas carriers. The ecoAPEX system combines cargo and fuel system processes with high-capacity compression technology, it said in a LinkedIn post yesterday. Babcock LGE said it can improve reliquefaction efficiency by up to 33% , while reducing reliquefaction energy consumption by around 25% . The technology can also cut loading and cooldown times by 14% , according to the company. The launch builds on Babcock LGE’s six decades of experience in liquefied gas systems and more than 650 reference systems worldwide. “It's the latest step in our continuous evolution of liquefied gas system technology, building on six decades of engineering expertise and more than 650 reference systems worldwide,” the company said.
