German owner Elbdeich Reederei has declared an option at China’s Wenchong yard for two methanol dual-fuel containership newbuilds. Elbdeich ordered a pair of 1,250 teu feeder vessels in October backed by a charter deal with Unifeeder and will manage them after delivery in 2026. The contract included options for two more similar ships for Unifeeder. These units, which have now been firmed up are slated for delivery in September and December of 2026, according to brokers. The newbuilds will be deployed on Unifeeder’s European network. The DP World-controlled feeder operator is the world’s 17th-largest liner. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsDenmark Germany
