Eitzen Group has ordered two fully electric 900 TEU containerships from Zhejiang Dongpeng to support the development of a green shipping corridor in Northern Europe. The vessels will be operated by Eitzen’s subsidiary, Zen , on a planned route linking Hamburg, Gothenburg and Oslo. Each containership will be equipped with battery packs exceeding 100 MWh , providing an estimated operating range of 500 to 600 nautical miles on a single charge. The order represents a significant step in Eitzen’s decarbonization strategy, with the fully electric vessels intended to serve zero-emission container transport on the Nordic green corridor.
