DHL Group is expanding its New Energy logistics business as demand for energy resilience and renewable energy infrastructure continues to grow. The company aims to increase New Energy logistics revenue from €600 million in 2025 to €3 billion by 2030. DHL identified New Energy as a key growth area under its Strategy 2030 programme and has invested heavily in new capabilities worldwide. The company now supports supply chains for alternative fuels, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicles, EV batteries, hydrogen, grid infrastructure, solar energy and wind power. DHL has launched Time Definite Plus, a new service for time-critical deliveries in the renewable energy sector. The service combines DHL Express’s network with customised delivery options, including urgent shipments, special handling and deliveries to remote locations. DHL will initially offer the service in 22 European countries and territories. The company also operates more than 1,100 front-stocking locations globally. These facilities can deliver spare parts within four hours to 88% of wind farms worldwide. In the battery sector, DHL recently started construction of a European Battery Logistics Hub in Holtum, the Netherlands. The 17,000-square-metre facility will provide storage and logistics services for high-voltage batteries used in electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The hub is scheduled to open in early 2027. DHL has also opened an EV and Battery Center of Excellence in France and plans new facilities in India and Peru later this year. The company currently operates more than 20 EV Centers of Excellence worldwide. DHL said growing investment in renewable energy, electrification and energy security will continue to drive demand for specialised logistics services.
