A Brazil-headquartered offshore drilling player has surfaced under a new name on the Norwegian public market. Ventura Offshore, which acquired Brazilian deepwater drilling firm Petroserv earlier this year, has listed its shares for trading on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The Guilherme Coelho-led company has already raised $170m via private placement to partly fund the deal and has also issued $130m in bonds, which will be listed in the coming months to cover the remaining part of the acquisition. The deal gave Ventura ownership of a drillship, Carolina, and one semisub rig, Victoria. The company also took over the management of the drillship Zonda and the semi Catarina. The owned rigs are both on contract to Petrobras, with an expected duration until Q2 and Q3 2026. Zonda is expected to start its contract in early 2025 until 2028, while the semi Catarina has a contract with ENI Vietnam for one firm well with one optional well and with ENI Indonesia for four firm wells with up to four additional wells. The Macaé-based Ventura is chaired by former Fredriksen lieutenant Gunnar Eliassen, who worked as an investment director at Seatankers from 2016 to 2023 and served on the boards of several well-known offshore drillers. “We have an excellent operational platform, and the listing gives us further flexibility to pursue various growth opportunities, primarily in the ultra-deepwater space,” said Eliassen. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsBrazil Norway
