Stainless Tankers of Norway is set for a leadership change later this year. The Oslo-listed outfit backed by UK-based Tufton Investment Management will be headed by Tufton’s chief executive, Andrew Hampson, after Alex Karakassis steps down on June 30. “I would like to pass on my sincere thanks on behalf of the entire board for the immense effort and contribution that Alex has shown towards the success of Stainless Tankers. It has been a pleasure working with Alex over the last 18 months and I wish him every success for the future,” said Ted Kalborg, Stainless Tankers chairman. Karakassis has overseen the creation of the company and the transition of the company’s vessels into the commercial management of the Womar pool. Stainless Tankers IPO’d in March 2023. The company currently boasts a fleet of nine vessels managed by Tufton. Womar is owned by Blue Ocean Partners, which recently became a majority shareholder of Oslo-listed OSV pure play Golden Energy Offshore Services (GEOS). Blue Ocean also anchored Stainless Tankers’ IPO as the largest investor. Stainless Tankers logged a first-quarter net profit of $3m on revenue of $15.3m. As of the end of March, the company’s fleet was worth $162.5m. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway
